The Department of community health nursing observed “World AIDS DAY on December 1st 2023 . The theme of 2023 was “  Let communities Lead”.

It was exceptionally grand and done whole heartedly in the endeavor to prevent HIV/AIDS.The programme was inaugurated by Respected Dr. Pankaj Mishra, Registrar, Research & Development, along with Dr.Puneet Orhi,Vice Principal & HOD of Community Medicine Dept and Dean, Professor, Dr.G. Ramalakshmi . The welcome address was delivered by Renjith Thomas ,Associate Professor,H.O.D Department of Community Health Nursing.

The flag off for rally was done by Respected Dr. Pankaj Mishra, Registrar, Research &Development, along with Dr.Puneet Orhi, Vice Principal & HOD of community medicine dept and Dean/Principal, Professor, Dr. Ramalakshmi G. The students of M.Sc nursing Ist year,B.Sc Nursing IV  and ANM Ist  and IInd year participated in the rally. At 9.45am the AIDS day rally started from SGRRIM&HS Nursing College gate and proceeded to Dehrakhas road, Surkhunda Devi temple road Hospital via Pathri Bagh Chowk-and reached Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital by 11am with the permission of City Magistrate and local Police authority. During the rally the students of nursing college spreads the message of AIDS and its prevention using various placards and slogans .After that Socio-drama was performed by B.Sc  IV year students to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS at SMI hospital reception area. Finally rally participants were assembled in the nursing college campus and distributed the refreshment.
