The department of political science was set up in 2017    Since then, it has set reasonably high standards of itself under SGRRU. The department has always had dedicated teaching staff which has been a major factor for its growth. In this department, BA, MA and PhD courses are running and the department has created a conducive atmosphere for encouraging research and developing innovative teaching methods. It encourages comprehensive study of the field of politics keeping especially the Indian reality in focus. The department has organised numerous seminars, workshops and conferences.
