05 DAY WORKSHOP CONDUCTED IN SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

A 05 day workshop took place at School of Education Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) with the organization of an Employability Skills Workshop by the Naandi Mahindra Foundation. The workshop was began with the welcome address of Dean school of education, she introduced  Dr. Anubha Nagaliya who led this workshop with a focus on enhancing students' employability through a structured training program aimed at developing critical professional and soft skills.

Objective of the Workshop:

The primary objective of the workshop was to equip students with essential employability skills that are increasingly demanded in today’s competitive job market. These skills include:

  • Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Time Management and Leadership
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
  • Interview Techniques and Resume Building

The focus was to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations, thus improving students' readiness for real-world challenges.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  1. Expert Training:
    The workshop was facilitated by professionals from Naandi Mahindra Foundation, known for their expertise in employability training programs. the sessions emphasized practical skills and offered hands-on training through interactive exercises, group activities, and simulations.

  2. Skill Development Modules:
    The training modules were tailored to meet the needs of both undergraduate and postgraduate students from different disciplines. Students were trained in:

    • Effective Communication: Emphasis on verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, and active listening.

    • Resume Writing and Interview Skills: Students learned the art of drafting professional resumes and cover letters. Mock interviews were conducted to give them real-time experience in handling job interviews.

    • Industry Awareness: The workshop included a segment on understanding industry expectations, the latest market trends, and emerging job sectors.

  3. Interactive and Engaging Methods:
    The sessions were not limited to lectures but incorporated role-playing activities, case studies, and group discussions, which helped students apply the concepts in a dynamic environment. The 05 day workshop in School of Education was aimed at fostering training in areas such as:

  • Internship and Placement Opportunities: Facilitating internships and placements for School of Education SGRRU students with leading industry partners through Naandi's network.
  • Community Development: Joint efforts to contribute to the upliftment of underprivileged communities by preparing students to serve as change agents.
  • Continuous Skill Development Programs: The agreement ensures the organization of similar workshops and training sessions in the future.
  • Internship and Placement Opportunities: Through this partnership, students will have access to internships and potential job placements with corporate partners associated with Naandi Mahindra.
  • Career Guidance and Counseling: The MOU includes provisions for career counseling services, ensuring that students receive personalized advice on career paths and job search strategies.
  • Certification and Recognition: On successful completion of the workshop, students were awarded certificates, adding value to their professional profiles.

Student Feedback:

Students expressed immense satisfaction with the workshop, highlighting the practical approach of the sessions and the immediate relevance of the skills taught. They appreciated the real-world insights provided by industry experts and felt more confident in their ability to navigate future job interviews and workplace challenges.

Conclusion:

The Employability Skill Workshop conducted by Naandi Mahindra Foundation was a resounding success. It not only imparted critical employability skills but also marked the beginning of a collaborative relationship between Naandi Mahindra and Shri Guru Ram Rai University. This partnership, solidified by the MOU, will continue to benefit students by preparing them for a competitive job market, offering them the tools they need to build successful careers.
