Ed India workshop Report 2025

INTRODUCTION

On March 3, 2025, Ed India hosted a workshop dedicated to the art of question development and fostering student participation in the Question Making Competition. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Tanuj Bahuguna, a specialist in educational strategies. The primary goal of the session was to impart knowledge on crafting questions grounded in Bloom’s Taxonomy, a structured framework that categorizes educational objectives into varying levels of complexity and specificity.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

The workshop aimed to achieve the following objectives:

  • To comprehend the foundational principles of question development through Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  • To improve educators’ skills in creating effective and varied questions.
  • To motivate student involvement in question-making competitions
  • To enhance critical thinking and cognitive skill development among students.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

  • Overview of Bloom’s Taxonomy: The session commenced with a detailed introduction to Bloom’s Taxonomy, outlining its six cognitive levels: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create.
  • Methods for Question Development: Participants received training on formulating questions tailored to different cognitive levels, ensuring a comprehensive approach that includes factual, conceptual, and analytical inquiries.
  • Interactive Exercises: Engaging activities were conducted, enabling participants to generate their own questions across a range of subjects and themes.
  • Strategies for Student Enrollment: The workshop also addressed methods for enrolling students in the Question Making Competition, highlighting the significance of involving students in the learning process through active engagement.

A discussion session was conducted, allowing attendees to pose questions and receive expert insights from Mr. Bahuguna.

The workshop was notably informative and engaging, enabling participants to enhance their understanding of how to craft effective questions that evaluate various levels of learning.
