The Glimpse Of Uttarakhand’s Traditional Folk Songs Seen At The Second Day Of Shri Guru Ram Rai University

- FRESHER STUDENTS ENJOYED THE CULTURAL PROGRAMMES 

Dehradun. The students enjoyed the colourful presentations at the Second Day of the Three Days ‘Deeksharambh Programme’ being organized at Shri Guru Ram Rai University. 

On Friday, at the Second Day of the Dekshaarambh Programme of S.G.R.R. University, the message of blessings from Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj was recited. Then the students of School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences welcomed the fresher students. The Programme started with Saraswati Vandana. The students entertained all with beautiful presentations on Garhwali and Punjabi traditional folk dances, group songs and yoga poses.

While addressing the students over the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University & Chief Guest, Professor (Dr.) Yashbir Dewan said that at the role of teacher is of utmost significance in the student life. He said that the students must choose the teachers as their role models which will ensure success in life.

 Registrar, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri while addressing the students said that the aim of the university is to nurture all round personalities of the students so that they prove to be ideal professionals, good citizens as well as compassionate human beings in future.

Co-ordinator, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. R.P. Singh said that the students must innovate their route of success on their own with pioneering new ideas. 

Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Dean Academic, Dr. Kumud Saklani advised the students to include moral values and morality in their life. Dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dr. Geeta Rawat, Dean, School of Education, Dr. Malviak Kandpal, Dean, School of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Kirti Singh explained in detail about their respective schools. 

Over the occasion, the alumni of Shri Guru Ram Rai University also shared their experiences which included School of Humanities & Social Sciences alumni of 2019 batch Simran Aggarwal, Nishi Bhatia and Neha Pal, Latika Bhardwaj of School of Education, School of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences’ 2014 batch alumnus Akanksha Suman, 2019 batch Neetu shared their experiences and pleasant time spent at the university as students.

Over the occasion, Uttarakhand’s senior folk singer Dr. Neeta Kukreti, who has taken Ph.D. title from the university, also shared her pleasant experiences with the university.  

A Vote of Thanks was given by Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Dean, Academic, Dr. (Prof.) Kumud Saklani.

The occasion was also marked by the auspicious presence of Dr. Knachan Joshi, Dr. Manvir Singh Negi, Dr. Prachi Nautiyal, Dr. Manjusha Tyagi, faculties of concerned schools, staff and fresher students of the university.
