On World Cancer Day, Forgiveness Foundation Society organized an awareness workshop for the students and teachers at School of Education of SGRR University. In the workshop, psychologist Dr. Pawan Sharma discussed the mental aspects related to physical diseases along with them. According to medical science, almost all diseases are somatic. He told how mental conditions affect the physical directions. If these are not resolved in time, deadly diseases like cancer develop in the body. Dr. Sharma also taught the qualities of being stress free. He addressed the students by telling them that if they take proper precautions and diagnose their mental stress and other problems on time themself or with the help of professionals, then many serious physical diseases in the future could be avoided. Dr. Sharma said that in the year 2022, 20 million cases of cancer have been reported across the world, of which 14 lakhs are Indians. Most of the cases among women are of breast cancer and most of the cases are due to lung cancer. Daily use of tobacco is the main reason. He taught many qualities and techniques to keep healthy and stress free. He said that any person can avail free counseling and therapy in the mental health camps organized by Forgiveness Foundation Society. All the B.Ed. students actively participated in the workshop. On this occasion, Professor Malvika Kandpal, Dr. Anand Kumar, Dr. Balbir Kaur Sunishtha Singh also also shared their views.
