On Sunday, the Closing Ceremony of the Annual Sports Meet of Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) was carried out. The students gave admirable presentations marking the closing ceremony. The University honoured the winners with medals, prizes and citation letters.

Vice Chancellor of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj congratulated and showered his divine blessings over the successful organizing of the Annual Sports Meet Khelotsav-2024.

On Saturday, the Prize distribution celebration was presided by the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. Yashbir Dewan and Registrar, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri. The students of SGRRU sang the Ganesh Vandana in a melodious voice to mark the sacred beginning of the programme.

While addressing the gathering over the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Yashbir Dewan congratulated the students have brought a good name over the successful organizing of the programme. He said that sports are an inseparable part of student life as they make students healthier and smarter. He said that a healthy body contains a healthy mind. He praised all the students for participating in the various  sports competitions. He said that wining or loosing is not as significant as active participation in the sports is. He said that all the students must recognize their potential and perform their best. Over the occasion, the Vice Chancellor also informed that recently the university has been awarded the prestigious Recognition of I.C.A.R. (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). He also expressed happiness over the recognition Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (D.S.I.R.O.).

He said that this will provide momentum to the research activities in the university. He said that these two recognitions are milestone achievements of Shri Guru Ram Rai University that all faculties, staff and students must be proud of. 

Registrar, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri congratulated all the organizers over the successful organizing of the Annual Sports Meet of the university ‘Khelotsav-2024’. He said that the students, both boys and girls, have exhibited true sports spirit and enthusiasm during Khelotsav-2024. He also announced that in the Annual Sports Meet that will be organized next year will also include some new sports wrestling, boxing, high jump and pool games. This will open new avenues for the students to display their varied talents. 

In Cricket Boys, SGRR Institute of Medical & Health Sciences was declared the winner while in Girls, School of Nursing emerged as victorious. In Cricket Faculty, SGRR University’s Patel Nagar Campus was the winner. In 100 meters race, Abhinav Kumar was the winner in Boys, while Priyanka was the winner in Girls. In Boys Relay Race, Shubhankar, Prithvi, Satish and Arya Negi of Humanities were the winners, while in Girls, Manisha, Prachi, Priyanka and Sudhil were the winners. In Carrom, School of Nursing was the topper both in Boys and Girls. In 400 meters Race, Girls, Manisha while Vansh in Boys were the winners. In Table Tennis, Singles, Management won in Boys while Medical won in Girls, In Doubles Boys, School of Computer Application and I.T. while Medical won in Girls. In Chess Boys, Management won while in Girls, Paramedical won. 

In Volleyball Boys, School of Computer Application and I.T. while in Girls, School of Basic and Applied Sciences won the finals. In Kho-Kho Girls, Management emerged as victorious. In Basketball Boys, Management won while in Girls, Agriculture won the final trophy. In Badminton Boys, Singles, Management won in Boys while in Girls, School of Basic and Applied Sciences won. In Badminton, Boys, Doubles, Management won while in Girls, Agriculture won. In Tug of War, Agriculture was the winner both in Boys and Girls sections. On the other hand, in Tug of War, Faculty, SGRRU Patel Nagar Campus was the winner.

Significant roles were played by Shri Guru Ram Rai University Khelotsav-2024’s Chairperson Dr. M.A. Beg, Coordinator, Dr. Manoj Gahlot, Sports Officer, S.P. Joshi, University Coordinator, Dr. R.P. Singh, Chief Proctor Cum Spokesperson, Manoj Tiwari, Dr. R.K. Verma, Dr. Puneet Ohri, Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Anil Thapliyal, Dr. Kanchan Joshi, Dr. Vaibhav Sharma, Dr. Manish Mishra, Dr. Deepak Som, Dr. Mnaveer Negi, Dr. Monika Bangari, Esha Sharma, Dr. Sonia Gambhir, etc. in making Khelotsav-2024 a success.
