An Awareness Programme was organized for cleaning workers and environment friends by Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU). In the programme, these soldiers of cleanliness were motivated and their morals were boosted. The cleaning workers and environment friends expressed happiness on being honoured. 

In the programme, cleaning kits were also distributed among the 100 cleaning workesr and environment friends.

On Tuesday, the programme was organized at the Patel Nagar Campus of Shri Guru Ram Rai University. At the auditorium of the university, the programme was begun jointly by the Chief Guest Mayor of Dehradun, Saurabh Thapliyal, SGRRU’s IQAC Director, Dr. Divya Juyal, HOD, Deptt. of Community Medicine, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. Punnet Ohri and SGRRU’s Coordonator Dr. R.P. Singh by lamp lighting. In his address to the gathering, Mayor Saurabh Tahpliyal said that the Cleaning Workers are our Environment Friends. The cleaning work is a distinct task than other works. The cleaning start their cleaning work from early in the morning everyday. There work and contribution is unmatched.

Dr. Divya Juyal said that the Cleaning Workers of SGRR University are true Environment Friends. During ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ and Covid Pandemic, they have worked and performed like heroes. She also advised the cleaning workers to be cautious towards their health. She said that the cleaning workers must take vaccination of Hepatitis, Tetanus, etc. and must care for their helath always. She said that all the cleaning workers must always wear gum boots, gloves, masks all the time during work and must follow all the precautions.

Dr. Puneet Ohri said that we all must assist the cleaning workers in all possible ways. We all must ensure their participation in the cleaning campaign. Significant roles were played by the faculties of Pharma of SGRR University in, Making the programme a success.
