Dehradun. 16th December 2022. On the Third Day of the Annual Sports Meet of Shri Guru Ram Rai University ‘Khelotsav-2022’, students exhibited extraordinary sports talents in the interesting matches of Badminton, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Throw Ball, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Basketball. In Throw ball, College of Nursing won the game while in Volleyball, School of Management & Commerce Studies emerged as victorious. Management student Arun Kumar showed remarkable performance and won over the victory.
On Friday, the formal opening of the Third Day of ‘Khelotsav-2022’ was done jointly by Vijay Nautiyal, Authorized Signatory Manager, Dr. R.P. Singh, Registrar, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, and Dr. Manoj Gahlot, Coordinator of Khelotsav-2022 on the Sport Ground of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences.
The final Round of Throw Ball was played between College of Nursing Vs School of Humanities & Social Sciences. In this match, College of Nursing won by 11-5 and 11-4. In the Volleyball match, the team of School of Management & Commerce Studies won over College of Nursing while School of Basic & Applied Sciences won over School of Paramedical Sciences. In Table Tennis (Girls) final match, Aviya Singh of School of Basic & Applied Sciences defeated Aakriti Sati and won the title. While in Table Tennis (Boys) Rohit Kumar of School of management & commerce Studies won the final. In Table Tennis (Doubles)of Girls, Aakriti Sati and Unnati Agarwal were victorious while in Table Tennis (Doubles) of Boys, the pair of Nakul Singh Rajput and Shubham Pal was the winner.
In Cricket (Girls), School of Basic & Applied Sciences won by defeating school of humanities & social Sciences. School of Humanities & Social Sciences gave a target of 35 runs in the fixed at a loss of 4 wickets. The team of School of Basic & Applied Sciences easily achieved the target at the loss of 2 wickets. In another cricket match, the team of Medical College batted first and made 106 runs at a loss of 5 wickets in the fixed 10 overs. From the Medical College, Sagar made 31 runs on 15 balls which comprised of 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. From School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sarthak and Pankaj took 2 wickets each.
Then the team of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, came to bat to chase the target. Their star was slow. The team of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, could make only 78 runs in the fixed 10 overs at a loss of 8 wickets. Mohit scored the highest at 24 runs. From Medical College’s team, Adarsh Kumar and Pankaj Chettri took 2 wickets each.
In Boys Kabaddi, it was a neck to neck fight for victory between the teams of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and team of School of Agricultural Sciences in which school of Pharmaceutical Sciences won by 44-42. The team of CA&IT won over School of Management & Commerce Studies by 36-31., while the team of School of Paramedical Sciences won over College of Nursing by 66-47. In Badminton (Boys) , Arun Kumar of School of Management & Commerce Studies won the winners’ title.
In kho-kho (Girls), School of Agricultural Sciences was victorious. In Basketball (girls), school of agricultural Sciences, School of Basic & Applied Sciences, School of Management & Commerce Studies won their respective matches. In Kho-Kho (Boys), School of Humanities & social Sciences, School of CA&IT, School of Management & Commerce Studies and School of Agricultural Sciences were the winners. In Chess, Priya Panwar of School of Humanities & social Sciences was the winner.
In 800 metres race, in Boys, BBA student Rishabh Rawat and in Girls, Manisha Singh, student of B.A. first Year were the winners. In badminton, in Boys, Aman Kumar while in Girls, Manisha Bisht were the winners. In Badminton (Doubles), in Girls, Nisha Vermaand Anjali Yadav while in Boys, Ritik Verma and Samarth Dhyani were the winners. In Chess, the final (Girls), Priya Panwar was the winner while in Boys, Manish Aswal was the winner.
