
The Students of M.Sc. Agriculture (Soil Science ) and M.Sc.Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding ),School of Agricultural Sciences visited the Indian Institute of Soil Water Conservation (IISWC) Selaqui,Dehradun on 25th February 2025.The objective of this educational tour was to gain practical knowledge and insight into water conservation and management.
The Indian Institute of Soil Water Conservation is a premier research institution dedicated to promoting water conservation and sustainable water management practices.
Students had a guided tour of the institute's facilities, including the water conservation laboratory, the rainwater harvesting system, and the wastewater treatment and witnessed practical demonstrations of various water conservation techniques, including the use of drip irrigation and had the opportunity to interact with experts from the institute, who shared their experiences and insights on water conservation and management.
Students gained valuable insights into the importance of water conservation and the various techniques and strategies that can be adopted to promote sustainable water management.
The educational tour to Indian Institute of Soil water conservation was a valuable learning experience for students. Students were accompanied by Dr .Himanki and Dr.V.K.Singh
