Report On World Breast Feeding Week College of Nursing August 2024

World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is a global campaign to raise awareness on themes related to breastfeeding. WBW is celebrated every 1-7 August in commemoration of the 1990 Innocenti Declaration. World Breast feeding week is celebrated on 5th August 2024, was organized by department of child Health Nursing, SGRRIM&HS College of Nursing Dehradun. Theme for the year was for Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all The event was organized by Mrs. Rachal Prasad (Assistant professor), Ms. Rashmi Joshi (Assistant professor), Mrs. Kanchan (Assistant Professor) and Mr. D. Christopher (Nursing tutor), Ms. Simran Verma (Nursing tutor) under the supervision of Prof. G. Ramalakshmi Dean, SGRRU, SGRRIM&HS College of Nursing and Mr. Dinesha M. HOD Child Health Nursing As per our schedule on that day role play done by B.Sc. Nursing 6th semester and ANM 2nd year students for the mothers in pediatric ward of SMIH.

Poster competition related to theme were also made by B.Sc. Nursing 6th semester Students and GNM 2nd year students .Mohit B. Sc Nursing 6th sem got first prize ,Rimjhim B. Sc Nursing 6th sem got 2nd prize , Shivangi Maurya Got 3rd prize in poster competition. Dr. Vinita Gupta HOD, Obs and Gynae, Dr. Anjali Chaudhary , Department of Obs and Gynae SGRRIM&HS. Dr. Utkarsh, HOD, Pediatric Department, Dr. Ajay Pandita ( Medical Superitendent )SMIH SGRRIM&HS, Prof. Dr. G. Ramalakshmi Dean SGRRU, College of Nursing, Mr.Anish (Nursing superintendent) of SMI Hospital were invited as guest for the program.
