To enhance the livelihood of the farmers through sustainable agriculture School of Agricultural Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University Dehradun has organized program on “Crop Production and Organic Farming” on 21st January 2025 at Khushalpur village.

Dr. Moinuddin, Associate Professor Department of Agronomy spoke about field crop production with the use of organic manures and told about vermicomposting their usage, proper techniques for preparing vermicomposting pit. Dr. Ateeq Khan, Assistant Professor Department of Horticulture spoke about how to care Mango Orchard during flower bearing time.

Apart from this Dr. Tanuja Verma, Assistant Professor Agricultural Extension told about organic sources of nutrients like FYM, compost so that farmers can limit the use of chemical fertilizer. She also discussed the problems which are facing by farmers such as low soil fertility, problem in selection of suitable crops and suggested different solution to them.

Team also visited the farmer’s field along with the M.Sc. Agronomy student Raman and Nayan with help of Sarpanch Mr. Md. Sadiq to gathered information related to cultivation of crops, problems, soil fertility and also collected soil sample from their field.
