School of Agricultural Sciences of the Shri Guru Ram Rai University had organized Mushroom Rajgaar Mela during the year of 2019 to demonstrate all the important practices satisfying “Mushroom cultivation has a bright future”. Various stalls related with preparation of media, casing & production processes, processing and value addition of mushroom products to ensure entrepreneurship development among youth of the state. The students, visitors, trainees, staffs had learnt about cultivation of oyster and button mushrooms and were also introduced to the various ways mushrooms could be utilized. They could be dehydrated or canned and used in making soups, pickles, biscuits, muffins, baby food and in various dishes. This demonstration fair on Mushroom entrepreneurship development provided the youth with a new direction with a hope that Mushroom farming being a lucrative enterprise, can be started on a modest scale to maximize profitability, economic stability, productivity, employment opportunities and overall happiness of the society”.
