One-Day National Workshop on “Emerging and Current Perspectives in Pharmacy Practice” in School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

With the Divine blessings of Honourable Chancellor Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, support and encouragement of Honourable Vice Chancellor and Registrar, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SGRRU successfully conducted a One-Day National Workshop on Emerging and Current Perspectives in Pharmacy Practice on October 27, 2023.

The workshop was planned to deliver a concept-based orientation program of pharmacy practice among pharmacy Professionals. Academicians, Students and Research scholars from different states of North. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri, Registrar SGRRU, Prof. Dr. Divya Juyal, Dean SPS , Prof. Dr. Kumud Saklani, Dean, Academics, Dr. Yogesh Joshi (HOD, Pharmacy Practice) Prof. Dr. Praveen Chaudhary (Director HIPR). Prof. Dr. Kumud Saklani highlighted the importance of careful reading and monitoring of prescriptions for pharmacists. Prof. Dr. Divya Juyal, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for continuous learning and skill development for pharmacy professionals.

The first session of the workshop included an Expert talk by the Resource Person, Prof. Piyush Mittal, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh on the concept of Effective Prescription Screening. After his lecture, the students were given time to interact with him.

In the second session, a poster competition was held based on different aspects of pharmacy practice and clinical research. The posters were judged by the eminent guests Prof. Piyush Mittal and Prof. (Dr.) M.A Beg, Head, Department of Pharmacology SMIH and the winners were awarded certificates and medals. The winners of the poster competition were :-

1st Smriti Tiwari & Hannan Hussain from TMU, Moradabad.

2nd Archit Maan ,HIPR, Dehradun.

3rd Abhishek Singh, Shivalik College of Pharmacy, Dehradun.

In the third session the students get the exposure of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Yogesh Joshi, and Dr. Anuj Nautiyal, who discussed the role and responsibilities of pharmacists in patient care activities and Drug Information Centre.

The workshop concluded with a valedictory function where certificates & medals were distributed to the participants in the auditorium of SPS, and the positive feedback was given by all the participants.
