Observance Breast Cancer Awareness Month

REPORT ON BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME

SGRRIM & HS College of Nursing organized Breast Cancer Awareness Programme under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. Mrs.G.Ramalakshmi, Principal, in collaboration with Surgical Oncology Department, SMI Hospital and ABCI. The programme began with an introduction about the event given by Dr. Pallavi Kaul following which an invocation dance was performed by nursing students. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Pankaj Garg, HOD, Surgical Oncology Department, SMI Hospital. An awareness rally was flagged off by Prof Dr.S.V.S. Deo, marching from SGRRIM & HS Medical College premises till Kargi Chowk and then back covering the streets and lanes, was organized by all the enthusiasts shouting cancer awareness slogans carrying banners, play cards. Dr Prof.S.V.S Deo also graced the occasion by delivering his speech emphasizing on the need and significance of the awareness of cancer among the people. Shri.Subodh Uniyal Ji, MLA was the chief guest of the event.

He motivated students to stay healthy and shared his noble views on cancer awareness and its prevention. The programme provided the students with the opportunity to paint their innovative and thought provoking ideas on cancer awareness theme through their posters, slogans pasted on the wall and Rangoli .Role play, song, dance were performed by the nursing fraternity. All the guests were felicitated with mementos for their keen participation in the cancer awareness drive. As a token of love and motivation the cancer survivors were also felicitated .

All the participants and winners of competitions were awarded prizes for their best performances and active participation. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Ajeet. Mr.Ajay and Ms.Sonali were the masters of the ceremony. Mrs. Julia Massey and Mrs.Blessy Cherian, Faculty coordinated the programme on behalf of the Nursing College. The active participation of volunteer students and faculty members contributed to the magnificent success.


Nursing students Ms.Shivani Dhami & Ms.Akansha came 2nd in Rangoli competition held.
