MOU between School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SGRRU and Cotec Healthcare Private Limited Roorkee

School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SGRRU has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cotec Healthcare Private Limited Roorkee on 4th October 2023 to Expedite Research, Innovation Training, and Placement. 

The MoU was signed by Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri, Registrar SGRR University, and Mr. Harsh Tiwari, M.D, Cotec Healthcare Private Limited.

Prof. Dr. Divya Juyal, (Dean School of Pharmaceutical Sciences) along with her team Dr. Ashutosh Badola (Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics SPS) and Mrs. Shaffi K. Tangri (Assistant Professor Department of Pharmaceutics, SPS) were present in the signing ceremony, held in the premises of Cotec Healthcare Private Limited Roorkee. Mr. Harsh Tiwari,  accompanied by Mr. Niraj Shukla (General Manager Operations) and Mr. Vinay Singh (HR Head) welcomed the team.

The Company was incorporated as Cotec Healthcare Private Limited in 1998 as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956. Cotec Healthcare Private Limited. They are a WHO-GMP, FSSAI, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certified company & and government-recognized Export House. Their manufacturing unit is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India with an Administrative office in Ghaziabad, India. 

Their forte is developing and manufacturing varied pharmaceutical products in-house, which they commercialize through their relationships with big MNCs across the world. The company is engaged in manufacturing of pharmaceutical formulations, Ayurvedic/Herbal preparations, hormones, nutraceuticals and more. 

They manufacture a portfolio of branded generic products across India and the world to various countries such as Ivory Coast, Ukraine, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Baku, and Tajikistan.

The MOU was signed to foster collaboration in the areas of research, innovation, education, placement and training. According to the MOU, the two parties will jointly undertake research projects, organize workshops and seminars, and facilitate internships and placements for pharmacy students. The team from SPS visited the parentral unit of industry under the supervision of Mr. Niraj Shukla (General Manager Operations). 

Prof. Dr. Divya Juyal said that the MOU will provide a platform for pharmacy students and faculty to interact with industry experts and gain exposure to the latest trends and developments in the pharmaceutical sector.

Mr. Harsh Tiwari said that the MOU will enable Cotec Healthcare Private Limited Roorkee to access the academic resources and expertise of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SGRRU and enhance its research and innovation capabilities.

The MOU is expected to benefit both organizations by creating a synergy between academia and industry and promoting the advancement of pharmaceutical science and technology.
