MoU and Workshop on Importance of Skill Based Education

“Memorandum of Understanding” signing ceremony & Successful Workshop on “Importance and need of Skill-Based Education with an overview of and Opportunities in the Life Sciences Sector” organized by School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

With the blessings of Honourable President, Mahant Shri Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj and with the guidance of Hon. Vice Chancellor Dr. Yashbir Dewan and Respected Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri, a highly successful workshop on "The Importance and Need of Skill-Based Education with an Overview of and Opportunities in the Life Sciences Sector" was organized by School of Pharmaceutical Sciences recently, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) department, SGRR University.

The event featured Dr. Anita Rawat, Director USERC, as the chief guest. The resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Goutam Bhattacharya, CEO, LSSDC, and Mr. Ankit Rana, Head of Academic Initiatives at Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC). Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri, Registrar, SGRR University as a special invitee delivered a motivational message, emphasizing the critical role of skill-based education in today's competitive environment. Prof. Suman Vij, Director IQAC highlighted the importance of skills in the current era, stressing the necessity for students and professionals to continually develop and enhance their capabilities.

In a significant development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between LSSSDC and SGRR University. This MoU aims to foster and initiate skill-based courses within the university, paving the way for enhanced educational opportunities and career readiness for students.

Dean SPS, Prof. Divya Juyal, warmly welcomed and thanked the resource persons for their invaluable contribution to the workshop. She stated that this MoU marks the beginning of our journey into the integration of skill based education and our University is looking forward to achieve new heights by introducing new skill based programs. Prof. Anita Rawat engaged the audience with an insightful discussion on the possibilities and future of skill-based education. In the first expert talk Session Mr. Goutam Bhattacharya delivered an informative lecture on the importance of skill-based education, which was followed by an engaging open discussion round handled by Mr. Ankit Rana. The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and deans, all keen to explore the avenues presented.

The workshop was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Manish Misra, Mr. Ajay Singh Bisht, Mrs. Shaffi Khurana Tangri and Dr. Sudhakar Kaushik ensuring a smooth and productive session for all attendees. The event was a testament to the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence at SGRR University, setting a strong foundation for future advancements in skill-based education and opportunities in the life sciences sector.
