Dehradun. Independence Day was celebrated at the various institutions of SGRR including Shri Guru Ram Rai University with unmatched enthusiasm. This year the independence day function is being celebrated as ‘ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with unmatched enthusiasm. In the Independence Day function, the students and faculty members gave attractive presentations with the theme of patriotism remembering the martyrs of the independence struggle. 

At the premises of Shri Darbar Sahib, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj hoisted the national flag at 9 a.m. in the morning. Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj congratulated the people of Uttarakhand and India on this national festival. At Pathri Bagh Campus of Shri Guru Ram Rai University,Vice Chancellor DR. U.S. Rawat hoisted the tricolor at 9:45 a.m. in the morning. In his address over the occasion, the Vice Chancellor paid homage to the immortal martyrs who laid down their lives in the struggle for India’s independence. He said threw light over the progress report of the university. The various songs and presentations on patriotism by the students of different institutions of SGRR University like SGRR College of Nursing, SGRR College of Paramedical, SGRR College of Education won the praise of all. The occasion was marked by the auspicious presence of Registrar of SGRR University Dr. Deepak Sahni, Co ordinator, SGRR University, Dr. R.P. Singh, Vice Principal, SGRR Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. Puneet Ohri, Dr. Amit Varma, Dr. Manoj Gahlot, Deans, HODs and students of all the deptts. of Shri Guru Ram Rai University.
