First day of cultural week of SGRRU

CULTURAL WEEK BEGINS AT SHRI GURU RAM RAI UNIVERSITY

Dehradun. From 07th to 10th October 2024, the Cultural Week of Shri Guru Ram Rai University is being organized with flying colours at Shri Guru Ram Rai University. On Monday, the Cultural Week programme was inaugurated. Under this Cultural Week, various competitions will be organized that include Rangoli, Poster making, Quiz, Debate, Dance, etc. cultural competitions. On Monday, the programme was inaugurated at the auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Pathri Bagh Campus. The President of SGRR University, Shri Mahant Devendar Das Ji Maharaj snet his best wishes and divine blessings to the organizers for the success of this Cultural Week.

    The programme was begun jointly by Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kumud Saklani, Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri, Coordinator Dr. R.P. Singh, IQAC Director Dr. Suman Vizand Nodal Officer Dr. Malviak Knadpal by lamp lighting. 

    On Monday, the first day of Cultural Week, Lecture, Slogan, Rangoli, Mehndi and Poster Competitions were organized. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor, SGRR University, Prof. Dr. Yashbir Dewan in his message said that this Cultural Week is an ideal platform to bring out and exhibit the hidden talents of the students. He said that the students must participate in this Cultural Week with utmost enthusiasm. 

    While addressing the gathering over the occasion, Pro Vice Chnacellor Prof. Dr. Kumud Saklani said that this an reamarkable platform to exhibit and nurture creativity. She said that the students must participate in this Cultural Week with utmost enthusiasm. 

    Registrar, SGRR University, Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri said that organizing programmes like Cultural Week are of utmost significance for the personality development of the students. He said that for the students to prove good citizens they must be acquainted different cultures of the country. He also motivated the students to be acquainted with knowledge system mentioned in the New Education Policy.

    Main Coordinator and President of the Cultural Committee, Dr. Balbir Kaur provided informations about the various competitions that will be organized in this Cultural Week. She said that on the First Day of the Cultural Week, Lecture, Rangoli, Poster Making, Mehndi, Slogan Writing and Quiz Competitions are being organized. The coordinators for the competitions will be Dr. Priyanka Upadhyay, Rakhi Chauhan, Dr. Neha Chauhan, Dr. Divya Chauhan, Julia Jonathan, Dr. Bhawna Bhatt, Dr. Mnajusha Tyagi, Preeti Juyal, Dr. Neeraj Kumar and Pallavi Joshi. She said that Solo Singing, Group Singing, Solo Dance, Group Dance competitions will also be organized. A Vote of Thanks was given by Isha Sharma. In the Rangoli Competition, School of Basic and Applied Sciences won the first position, School of Agricultural Sciences won the Second Position whiel School of Education won the Third Position. The judges were Dr. Keerti Singh and Dr. Puneet Ohri. In the Slogan Competition, Kanishka Rawat of School of Agricultural Sciences won the First Position, Bhumika of School of Basic and Applied Sciences won the Second Position while Ritu of School of Nursing. The judges in this competition were Dr. Kanchan Joshi and Dr. Arun Kumar.

     In Poster Making Anushka Semwal and Ved Rani were jointly awarded the First Position. Kashish Vasudev won the Second Position while Somya Gulati won the Third Position. The judges in this competition were Dr. Keerti Singh and Dr. Puneet Ohri. In Mehndi Competition, Isha won the First Position, Meenakshi and Swati jointly won the Second Position while Priya Pundir won the Third Position. The judges in this competition were Dr. Priyanka Bankoti and Dr. Geeta Rawat. The judges of the competitions also included Dr. Geeta Rawat, Dr. Nidhi Jian, Dr. G. Ramalakshmi, Dr. Malviak Sati Kandpal, Dr. Soniya Gambhir, Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Vipul Jain and Dr. Divya Juyal.

    The occasion was also marked the auspicious presence of Dean Research Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Kanchan Joshi, Dr. Manish Mishra, Dr. Priya Pandey, Dr. Anuja Rohilla,Dr. Bijender Singh, Dean, HODs, faculties and students of all the schools of Shri Guru Ram Rai University.

ESSAY COMPETITION ORGANIZED TO MARK THE OCCASION OF GARHBHOJ DIWAS

Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Garhwali Lnaguage and Cultural Deptt. and Home Science Deptt. organized Essay Competition and Cookery Competition to mark the occasion of Garhbhoj Diwas. In the beginning of the programme, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Geeta Rawat acquainted the students with the significance of traditional food of Garhwal. Programme’s Convener and Coordinator, Garhwali Lnaguage and Cultural Deptt., Dr. Garima Dimri gave the introduction of the dishes of Garhwal. Faculty of Home Science, Snigdha Bhatt gave training on preparing the traditional dishes of Garhwal. In the Essay Competition, Ajay Knat, Harshit Singh and Anshika Panwar won the First, Second and Third Positions. While in the Cookery Competition, Himanshi Sonkar, Anshavi Bijlwan and Umar Ikra won the First, Second and Third Positions. The judges of the competitions were Dean Dr. Geeta Rawat and Prof. Pooja Jain.
