Every Year December 23 is celebrated as "National Farmers Day"on the birth anniversary of the fifth Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh . National farmer's Day is a tribute to the farmers of the country who works hard to provide for the nation and ensure that we never run out of food. Farmer's Day 2023 theme focused on “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience,” emphasizing innovation in agriculture.
On this occasion,With the blessings of Honourable chancellor Shri Mahant Devendra Das ji Maharaj and the directions of Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr Yashbir Deewan to approach the farmers towards digitalization in agriculture and allied sectors and to make their deliberate communication with Agricultural Institute a "Kisan Goshthi" was organized by School of Agricultural Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University at bentwali mandi and dudhali villages on December 23rd 2023. More than 80 farmers had enthusiastically participated in the said programme.Dr.Priyanka Bankoti, Dr.J.p.Singh , Dr. Moinuddin and Mr. Amit Bhatt explored their views on farming practices and immediate need of digitization in agriculture field. They also interacted with farmers for their dissonance in daily farming practices and tried to solve out. Drone application demonstration also conducted with the help of State Agriculture Department. At last they appealed farmers to walk step by step with present advances in agriculture and make their farming pattern well advanced as well as update their knowledge in farming fields looking to the need of hour.
