SGRRU cultural week wednesday

HARIYANVI, RAJASTHANI, PUNJABI AND GARHWALI-KUMAONI MUSIC DOMINATE THE SCENE AT SGRRU

- COLOURFUL PRESENTATIONS BECAME THE ATTRACTION OF THE CULTURAL WEEK

- ON THURSDAY, THE CAMPUS OF SGRRU WILL BECOME COLOURFUL WITH THE COLOURS OF NAVRANG DANDIA

Dehradun. On Wednesday, at the Cultural Week of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, the cultural programmes dominated the scene. Students, both boys and girls, put flying colours with the music and rhythm of Hariyanvi, Rajasthani, Punjabi and Garhwali-Kumaoni folk music. Student Anamika Raj did the role playing of ‘Droupdi Cheer Haran’ which was the main attraction amongst today’s programme. Audiences became emotional to watch this presentation. On Thursday, the gathering of Navrang Dandia 2.0 will be decorated late evening at the campus of SGRRU. Thousands of students and faculty members will enjoy the programme of Navrang Dandia. 

    On Wednesday, Solo Dance and Group Dance competitions were organized. Student Anushka did the role play of Maa Kali. The atmosphere became spiritual and sacred by this presentation of Maa Kali marking the occasion of Navratri.  Pranav and Group won the hearts of the audiences by their presentation on Punjabi song ‘Tu ne boldi rakane tera yaar bolda’. Female students of School of Nursing introduced the folk culture of North eastern states with their dance. 

    Solo presentation of Sakshi Sharma of School of Paramedical was admired by everyone. Aryan Dogra of School of Engineering sang the Bollywood songs which made the young hearts beat faster. Presentations of Anamika Raj of School of Humanities and Rishabh Jangwan of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences were admired by all.

     Mona Rohilla and Group gave the presentation of Marathi folk Dance. Student Anu Sharma gave fabulous presentation on Haryanvi song ‘Thake tokri mein matak matak chalungi’ song. Jyotsana and Group gave nice presentation on Rajasthani song ‘Rangeelo Mahro Dholna’. Ruchi Gusain of School of Yogic Sciences presented the glimpse of hill culture by means of Garhwali and Kumaoni songs.

      Stage Anchoring was done by Ayush Dobhal and Yuyutsa Barthwal. Significant roles were also played by the students of NCC and Students’ Council in making the programme a success. Dr. Deepak Som, Dr. Naveen Gaurav and Dr. Kanchan Joshi acted as judges in today’s programme.

The programme was marked by the auspicious presence of Cultural Committee’s Chairperson Dr. Balbir Kaur, Member Secretary Isha Sharma, Dr. Priya Pandey, Dr. Anuja Rohilla, Dr. Bijender Gusain, Deans, HODs, faculty members and students of all the schools of SGRR University.
