With the Divine blessings of Honourable Chancellor Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, support and encouragement of Honourable Vice Chancellor Sir and Registrar Sir, the SPS SGRRU successfully celebrated 62nd National pharmacy week from 19th – 25th November 2023 themed, "Join Pharmacists to Ensure Patient Safety".
Many activities were programmed and performed to promote the awareness about drug safety and various role of Pharmacists in ensuring effective usage of drugs. The Program was started with a motivating message by Dean, SPS. To explain the significance of the theme given by INDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL ASSOCIATION a power point presentation was given by Mrs. Shaffi K. Tangri, Assistant Professor, SPS . A Quiz competition was organized for the students of the Pharmacy, in the auditorium of SPS. Students enthusiastically participated in quiz competition. The questions were based on pharmacy education, general awareness and current affairs. The activity also promoted the knowledge of ADRs and Drug safety among students. The event was well coordinated by Dr. Yogesh Joshi, HOD, Pharmacy Practice.
Under the guidance of the esteemed Dean, SPS, an Essay writing competition was organized on the theme of National Pharmacy week, Students expressed their views and actively engaged themselves during the event. The event was well coordinated by Dr. Kanishk Kala, Assistant Professor, SPS.
Debate: Students were given a chance to participate in debate competition on the Topic, “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine: Opportunities and Challenges” Students keenly participated, expressed their views on the opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence upholds. A very healthy discussion was encountered among students on the given topic. The event was well coordinated by Mrs. Shaffi K. Tangri, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
A white coat ceremony for the newly enrolled students of Pharm. D. 1st year and Pharm. D. PB. 1st year was held in Auditorium SPS. Dean, Prof. Divya Juyal stated the purpose and significance of white coat ceremony to students. Mrs. Sushmita Uniyal coordinated this event.
The event was concluded with Certificate distribution to the winners and The Pharmacist Oath. National Pharmacy week acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Pharmacists in the society.
