• Devotees from India & abroad reach to congratulate Sajjadanashin, Gaddinashin Shri Maharaj Ji

The 25th Appearance Day (Prakatotsav) of Sajjadanashin (Spiritual Head of the Shrine) Gaddinashin (Successor to the holy seat) Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj was celebrated today on Monday with religious fervour. Thousands of ‘Sangat’ devotees from Uttarakhand, neighbouring states, other parts of India and abroad reached Shri Darbar Sahib and paid their hearty congratulations to Shri Maharaj ji on his birthday. Shri Maharaj Ji also showered his divine blessings over these thousands of devotees. Special prayers were organized at Shri Darbar Sahib to mark this occasion and ‘prasadam’(sacred food) was also distributed to the devotees. It’s worth mentioning that today on 10th February only in the year 2000, Brahmleen Shri Mahant Indiresh Charan Das Ji Maharaj accepted Shri Devendra Dass Ji as his disciple and he took “religious learning” (Deeksha) under Shri Guru ji. Since then, 10th February has been celebrated every year as the Birthday (Appearance Day) of Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj.

On 25th June 2000, Shri Mahant Devendra Das ji Maharaj became Gaddinashin at Shri Darbar Sahib in the form of Sajjadanashin. On Monday, since morning unmatched enthusiasm and religious fervour was experienced at Shri Darbar Sahib. In the morning, after routine prayers, Shri Maharaj ji bowed down at Shri Darbar Sahib and and the holy flag pole Shri Jhande ji. After that, the chief priest conducted the special prayers of the appearance day of Shri Mahant Devendra Das ji Maharaj. Shri Maharaj Ji also got done ‘ardas’ (prayer) as per the tradition of Shri Darbar Sahib. While addressing the gathering of the devotees and general public, Shri Maharaj Ji said that serving others is the biggest religion. He especially remembered Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj and said that Shri Guru Maharaj Ji has always inspired him with his minute presence. He said that he has always got utmost love of Doonites, public of Uttarakhand and country as well as the Sangat devotees. He recalled his objective of providing a new and correct direction to society by Shri Guru Ram Rai University & SGRR Education Mission. Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital under this mission is devoted to provide quality health services even to the remote and far flung rural hill areas of Uttarakhand and nearby states. On the other hand, SGRR Public Schools and SGRR University being run under the SGRR Education Mission are regularly involved with the task of providing quality education to all the classes of the society. He recalled that the Mission will always be struggling to bring the backward and poor classes of the society to its mainstream. After this, students and staff members of the SGRR Public Schools from all over North India, Doctors and Staff of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Students of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, other dignitaries of the city, devotees from various parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, other parts of India and abroad took the divine blessings of Shri Maharaj Ji and wished for his long life. Sangat devotees had reached from Punjab and Haryana at Shri Darbar Sahib on Sunday only. The congratulations giving continued till late evening. A special ‘langar’ scared community feast was also organized at the occasion and the devotees were distributed sweets. The rhythm of congratulating continued till late in the evening. Many reputed people and dignitaries congratulated Shri Maharaj Ji by reaching Shri Darbar Sahib.
