Session 1: Grand Get-Together!

The inaugural Alumni Meet of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shri Guru Ram Rai University took place on January 17, 2024, at the Pathri Bagh campus, attended by a large number of former students. The event was graced by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Yashbir Dewan who extended his best wishes for the alumni's future success. He emphasized the importance of alumni paving the way for their juniors. Vice-Chancellor highlighted the role of alumni in mutual progress and encouraged cooperation among students. President of the Alumni Association, Dr. Pradeep Semwal, expressed aspirations for community service initiatives, urging alumni cooperation for societal betterment. Prof. Sanjay Pokhriyal, the Controller of Examinations, emphasized the significance of the Alumni Meet as a platform for idea-sharing and knowledge enhancement. Dean SHSS, Prof. Geeta Rawat, expressed satisfaction at seeing former students and hoped for their continued involvement in inspiring juniors.

Program Coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kulshrestha expressed contentment with the alumni's progress and encouraged them to mentor their juniors. Cultural programs were presented by current students, with former students expressing gratitude for University support. Among the old students, Dr. Sunil Kishtwal, Dr. Shikha Mishra, Simran Aggarwal, Pinky Pandey, Vaibhav Garg and others expressed their views and thanked the University for its Support. The stage was conducted by Dr. Jyotsna Kukreti. On this occasion, heads of departments and teachers of various departments of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences were present. Student Council also had an active contribution.
