Overview

The Department of Psychology was established in 2019 under School of Humanities and Social Sciences in SGRR University. The degrees offered by the department are: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology & and Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. The B.A. & M.A. Program in Psychology aims at developing an understanding of the growing discipline of Psychology and promoting knowledge & skill based education. The teaching-learning of the program are being organized through lectures, group discussions, experiential exercises, projects, presentations, workshops, seminars and hands on experiences. Students would be encouraged to develop an understanding of real life issues and participate in the programs and practices in the social context. To this end, practicum is incorporated as an important component in most of the papers. The scopes that are directly related to Psychology are: Clinical psychologist, Counselling psychologist, Child psychologist, Educational psychologist, Forensic psychologist, special education teacher, Occupational psychologist, Sport and exercise psychologist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Psychology is a perfect complement to other disciplines too. The degree with the psychology has a good opportunity in the field of Advice worker, Careers adviser, Data analyst, Forensic accountant, Human resources officer and Market researcher.
