Overview
Geography as a subject on UG level was introduced under the umbrella of SGRR Education mission in 2005. Yet Masters and PhD. courses were introduced in 2017. Since then the research activities are on in common practice under the department.

Agricultural Geography, Geomorphology, Remote Sensing, Climatology, Economic Geography, Population Geography, Environmental Geography, Regional Development and Planning, Cultural Geography, Urban Geography, Settlement Geography, Resource Development and Management, Marketing Geography, Medical Geography, Industrial Geography.
The main thrust area of the Department is in the field of Agriculture Geography, Population Geography and Environmental Geography as the PhD scholars are doing their research on the topics.

The Department also has a Geographical Research Group to intensify research, to inculcate interest and to develop observational skills in Geography.

Free coaching for UPSE and UGC NET exam is most important strength of the department.

Out of significance contribution made by the department in the field of teaching as maximum number of pass out students got the good job after UG and PG in Geography.

The Department has a fully equipped Cartography Lab, Metrology Lab and Survey instruments Lab.
