The department of Zoology aims to provide a competent centre for academic excellence. Study of Zoology provides knowledge on various aspects of life viz. Animal diversity, Evolution, Genetics, Ecology, Immunology, Cytology, Molecular biology, Fisheries, Embryology, Entomology etc. We provides research opportunity in the field of Aquatic biodiversity, Entomology, Fisheries and Toxicology. The department seeks to expand the knowledge and skills of students through cutting edge research and technologically advanced training. Students qualified in Zoology i.e. Zoologists are required by various employers like: Research institutes, Environmental protection agencies, Science centers, Zoos or wild life parks, Museums, Schools, Colleges etc. They may join research in different fields of Zoology and pursue a career in teaching.


Ans. Zoologists study about various aspects of animal life. Studying zoology connects us to other fields like Agriculture, Human health, Medical technology, Wildlife Biology, Applied Zoology (Arachnology, Ethology, Entomology, Helminthology, Herpetology etc.)

Ans. A number of attractive career opportunities are available for the students opting zoology as a subject. They may become: Ecologist, Environmental Consultant, Marine Scientist, Zoo Keeper, Zoo Curator, Forensic Experts, Lab Technicians, Animal Breeders, Animal Trainers, Researchers etc.
