I feel happy to interact with the Journalists of the present and the future. The Department of Mass Communication was established in 2006 and since the time, so many students have got their carrier as reputed journalists. SGRR University authorities have extended this family of mass communicators by adding three more course, BA(Hons) Journalism and Mass Communication, MA Mass Communication and Ph.D in Mass Communication in the year 2017. 

The department is committed towards imparting quality education and developing future journo providing strong foundation in fundamental concepts as well as inculcating core values of professionalism and ethics. Along with modern class room and internet facilities, a strong focus is on new media journalism also. Students will be trained to use hi-end video cameras as well as mobile phones as their tool for creating powerful and impactful news content.

I am thankful to my qualified and experienced faculties with a vast experience in research and filed work for the phenomenal growth of the department. They train the students with the right guidance to be passionate mass communicators in this rapidly changing journalistic environment.

Scope of the course

The world has witnessed a phenomenal and unprecedented explosion in communication technology and media. After completing the course, there is a huge demand from the news channels, TV shows, magazines, and various publishing firms and online news portals. The courses open doors for a career in films & TV, publishing, public relations, journalism, editing, direction, filmmaking, scriptwriting, production and online media content. The candidate can even work as a freelancer and work for many companies.
