Orthopaedics deals with the musculoskeletal system, Students will learn about both surgical and nonsurgical means for treating musculoskeletal problems. Surgeons in this field will treat diseases and conditions such as:

  • Spinal injuries
  • Dislocations and Fractures
  • Bone tumors,
  • club foot 
  •  unequal leg lengths
  • Tendon injuries
  •  pulled muscles
  • Arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Disorders of ligaments, nerves, skin, joints and muscles.

Surgeons will use variety of surgical techniques such as lasers to remove torn cartilage, and arthroscopic surgery for treating damaged joints.
