Prof. Dewan brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of medical sciences, particularly in neurosurgery, along with a distinguished career in academia and administration spanning over 38 years.
A highly esteemed neurosurgeon in India, Prof. Yashbir Dewan holds impressive qualifications including an M.Ch in Neurosurgery, M.S. in General Surgery, and specialized training in Cranial Base and Vascular Surgery, Spine, advanced neurosurgery in Micro-vascular and Spine Surgery from prestigious institutions both in India and abroad. He has been a pivotal figure in the development of the trauma system in India and has contributed extensively to the field of medical sciences through his research and innovations.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Dewan has consistently prioritized education, research, and the highest standards of patient care in the field of Neurosciences. His passion for research and innovation is evident from his extensive contributions to medical sciences, including the development of the trauma system in India. As a visiting professor of Emergency and Trauma at The Alfred Hospital, Monash University, Australia, Prof. Dewan has further enriched his expertise and contributed to the global medical community.
Prof. Dewan has held significant positions such as the former Principal of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. He has also served as the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at various esteemed institutions including Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, established in 1894, considered one of the leading medical facilities in India and Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun.
His exemplary leadership has not only led academic and clinical departments but has also shaped institutions into centers of excellence in education, research, and patient care.
