Republic day celebrated amisdt flying colours at SGRR University

-Chancellor Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj hoisted the tricolor, wished Republic Day to the people of Uttarakhand and India

-Urged the youth to ensure their roles in nation building

Dehradun. Republic Day function was celebrated amidst flying colours at Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences. Flag hoisting of the tricolour was done by the Chancellor Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj. The republic Day was celebrated with flying colours at the various institutions of SGRR Education Mission. The students sang melodious touching songs on patriotism and won the hearts of everyone.

The flag hoisting was done at Shri Darbar Sahib by Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj at 9 a.m. in the morning. While flag hoisting was done at the Pathri Bagh Campus of Shri Guru Ram Rai University at 9:30 a.m. and at Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences at 10:15 a.m. On this national festive occasion, Chairman of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj congratulated the people of Uttarakhand and India for the 71st Republic Day. In his address to the gathering, Shri Maharaj Ji threw light over the contribution of his Guru Shri Mahant Indiresh Charan Das Ji Maharaj in the independence movement.

Shri Maharaj Ji while explaining the significance of Republic said that in order to properly govern the independent country a new system was started on 26th January 1950 which made the country a republic with its governing rights in the hands of its people. He said that population explosion is the biggest hurdle in the path of the development of the country. He expressed concern over global warming and its ill-effects on agriculture. He urged the youth to ensure their roles in nation-building.

In the programme, Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. U.S. Rawat, Registrar Dr. Manoj Rana, Principal of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences Dr. Anil Kumar Mehta also expressed their thoughts and highlighted patriotism. The occasion was marked by the presence of doctors, faculty members, staff and students of SGRR University, SGRR Medical College and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
